Our Horseback Rides
As history surrounds the ranch, every ride covers the same ground Apache, US soldiers, bad guys, good guys, and thousands of unknown but brave, determined settlers all put their feet upon scores of decades ago. Hideout Ranch is near myriad spots intricately woven into the historical fabric of the American West, fascinating areas well-known to and revered by legendary figures like Wyatt Earp and his brothers, Doc Holliday, the Clantons and McLaurys, Pancho Villa, Billy the Kid, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. The Stronghold where rumors have Cochise buried with his favorite horse and favorite dog - but the only man with that knowledge has long since died, taking the truth with him. Fort Bowie and Apache Pass - where the US Army repeatedly tangled with legendary Chiricahua Apache warriors Cochise and others just as legendary - Mangas Colorado, Victorio, and Cochise's son, Taza. Turkey Creek where Johnny Ringo was found shot between the eyes with no clue even today of who pulled the trigger. Skeleton Canyon, just miles down the road, where Geronimo, who broke away from Cochise's band and continued the fight against the US Army for years, finally surrendered.
